GP Launches eSIM in Bangladesh

Grameenphone launches eSIM in Bangladesh for the first time. Grameenphone is the largest operator in Bangladesh.

eSIM is embedded in a mobile device that allows you to connect with your operator of choice without having the need to purchase a physical SIM Card. It works just like a regular SIM but does not require a physical card, and only works on devices with pre-installed eSIM support.

According to GP’s website, customers now can purchase new numbers or replace their existing SIM for an eSIM. Customers can be able to avail eSIM from March 7.

It’s really a great whole new journey for us, for all of us. Maybe after some month, all other operators will also go to make sure that, they can also give eSIM service to their users.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), a couple of months back, approved eSIM for operators.

But unfortunately, only a handful of handset supports eSIM.
