How to Install OBS Studio in Arch Linux 2024

Recording a screen is very common nowadays. But to do that you need software which will help you to record your screen. And in this case, OBS is the big player.

The best part of OBS Studio is that it’s cross-platform and you can use it on any operating system. If you are using Linux or Arch Linux you can also use OBS easily. But you may not know how to install OBS Studio in Arch Linux. That is why today I’m going to tell you how you can install OBS Studio in Arch Linux. We will see the step-by-step process and we’ll know all about it.

Install OBS Studio in Arch Linux

Step 1: Update Arch Linux

Before we can go into the main process, we must have to update our system. Updating arch Linux is very easy to do and you may already know how to do that. But I’m also going to tell you how to do that.

To update Arch Linux just use this command and you’ll be good to go.

sudo pacman -Syu

Step 2: Install OBS Studio

After updating Arch Linux, it’s time to install OBS Studio in our system. Install OBS Studio is also too much easy to do. All you have to do is execute the command below.

sudo pacman -S obs-studio

And after executing the command type ‘y’ and press enter. Afterward OBS Studio installation process will start by itself and all you have to do now is take a short break.

After some time you’ll see that OBS Studio is successfully installed into your Arch system and now you can say again that “I use Arch BTW”!

Step 3: Use OBS Studio

So, OBS Studio is successfully installed in our system. Now we have to use it. To use it you can search it on the search panel like any other software or you can also open it from the terminal. To open it from the terminal use the command below.
