Why there is no Google Headquarters in Bangladesh

Google is the King of the tech world. It’s one of the biggest companies in the world. They have thousands of employees and like every country, they also have Bangladeshi employees. But, why there is no Google headquarters in Bangladesh?

It’s a very big question in our minds (Especially for tech lovers!). There are a lot of reasons for that. Today we are going to discuss that. But, first, let me introduce you to Google.

I know that everyone knows about Google. Even then I will write about that for those who don’t know a lot about Google.

What is Google?

Google LLC or Google is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. Like a search engine, online advertising technologies, cloud computing, software, hardware, and many more.

In one word, now a day Google services are mixed with our daily life. They are in everything. Like, YouTube, Gmail, Hangout, Play Store, Android, Pixel Mobile, Chrome, Google Translate, Google Maps, and many more.

Google is helping us to make our life much easier. Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. is considered one of the Big Five American information technology companies, alongside Amazon, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft.

Like if we use google translate a lot. Google translate is now the most trusted language translation service. Google Map is a digital map. Everyone use this, even a lot of big company and apps also use google map.

So, this is a short introduction to Google.

Why there are no Google headquarter in Bangladesh?

For many reasons, Google is not interested to make a headquarter in Bangladesh. Let me tell you some of them one by one.

And an important fact. I collect these reasons or facts from many websites and resources. I don’t know what is the main reasons. But, maybe those are some of the reasons from Googles’ list.

• Users

That’s true that there are a lot of Bangladeshi Google users. But, that’s not a lot for Google. Maybe, Google needs more users from Bangladesh.

The main theme is, Google has to satisfy, and then, they may think about it. They have to be sure that, Bangladesh will be a profitable place for them.

• No Need

There is no need to make a headquarter in Bangladesh. I know that you don’t expect this kind of answer but let me tell you more.

First, think about other countries. Countries like Iceland, Finland, Pakistan, Nepal, Peru, New Zealand, and many more also don’t have any Google headquarter. It’s going very well without any headquarter.

Maybe, if they make a headquarter in Bangladesh, it will waste money and it will be harmful to them also.

Like India have 4 Google headquarter. Because India is a very big country. There are a lot of Google users. And the main important thing, the CEO of Google is Sundar Pichai. And we all know that Sundar Pichai is an Indian.

So, it’s quite natural that India has four headquarters. If any Bengali become Google CEO, we will get a lot facility from Google (Maybe).

• Employee

If Google makes a headquarter in Bangladesh, they also need a lot of Bengali employees. And, Bangladesh doesn’t have those kinds of employees for Google.

We even don’t have enough people for our country. Yes, many students and people are going to other countries for their dream jobs, like jobs in Google. But, it’s not a big number.

First, we have to make sure that, our country has a lot of intelligent people, especially techie people.

And there are also a lot of reasons out there. I’m not going to bore you by saying that all of them. But, reason number two is the main reason (I think so).

Let me now tell you what will be the main benefit for us, if google makes any headquarter in Bangladesh.

Main Benefit

Every year a lot of Bengali brilliants travel to other countries to get a job at Google or in many other big companies. And after that, don’t come back to Bangladesh anymore.

So, if Google makes a headquarter in Bangladesh it will be beneficial for us. Because then there is no need for us to go other countries. We can get our dream job by staying in our country.

So, it will be the main benefit for us.

Short History of Google

Google began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were both Ph.D. students at Stanford University in California.

The project initially involved an unofficial “third founder”, Scott Hassan, the original lead programmer who wrote much of the code for the original Google Search engine, but he left before Google was officially founded as a company.

Hassan went on to pursue a career in robotics and founded the company Willow Garage in 2006. The domain name www.google.com was registered on September 15, 1997, and the company was incorporated on September 4, 1998. It was based in the garage of Susan Wojcicki in Menlo Park, California.

In March 1999, the company moved its offices to Palo Alto, California. And after a lot of years, now Google is the kind of the tech world.

So, that was the whole thing. I hope now you know, why there are no Google headquarter in Bangladesh. But, in the future, Google will make a headquarter in Bangladesh and I’m sure in this.
