Drone Import Banned in India

The Indian government on Wednesday banned the import of foreign drones.

But, it has some exceptions as part of efforts to promote domestic manufacturing of drones in the country. Like import of drones for R&D, security purposes, and defense have been exempted from the ban. But, in that case, such imports will require due clearances.

But, the good news for India is, the import of drone components shall not require any approvals. It’s declared by the civil aviation ministry.
